GTA 6 Doesn't Have Twerk Button, but YouTuber Managed to Convince Google's AI That It Does

It just took several months of fake posts.

Google's AI Overview is meant to help users quickly find the information they need, but we all remember how gullible it is from the "glue of pizza" story. So does YouTuber Jeffery Phillips, who decided to conduct an interesting experiment and appear on Overview with a hilariously fake fact.

Would you like to have a twerk button in GTA 6? Well, it might be there, at least according to Google's AI and Phillips, who spent 3 months spreading this rumor online, on different sites and specifically Reddit, which has a big impact on Overview's answers.

Phillips wasn't trying too hard to make the rumor convincing even, he just posted a bit here and there, but it was enough. It started as a fun experiment, according to Polygon, which eventually reached Overview.

“I was definitely surprised to see that I even showed up on the AI Overview. Especially since I didn’t even try to make anything with substantial or convincing evidence. I thought at most it would say some people on Reddit think it could be true. I would’ve never expected my own comments being used as a source though,” he said.

He created a subreddit with random fake facts and then focused on GTA 6. It took a while, and at first, Overview flagged the twerking button as false, but in the end, as you can see in Phillips's video, it ended up in "unverified claims," with the AI saying that the button is based on speculation, showing his comments as a source.

So while he didn't exactly fool Overview into thinking the feature was true, he definitely made it aware of the rumor, since there was no trace of twerking in GTA 6 when you asked Google about it before the experiment.
