Help This Young Boy Find His Mom While Escaping a Cursed Village

Get some help from his late sister's spirit and pet spider.

Let Me Out

Today, let's look at a newly-launched horror game, whose protagonist is a poor 10-year-old boy.

In Let Me Out, you play Alvin, a young child looking for his missing mother. The game is set in Indonesia in the 1960s, in Mata Koetjhing, an ancient Javanese village with a haunting past. You are not alone, though. Alvin gets help from his late sister Jane's spirit and his pet spider.

Let Me Out

The game begins with Alvin waking up from a nightmare, only to realize that his dream has spilled into reality. His village is deserted, and his mother is missing. Guided by Jane, Alvin sets out on a quest to escape his house and unravel the mystery behind the sudden appearance of ghosts in his village.

Let Me Out

As you navigate the cursed village, you'll encounter demons ready to pounce on any intruder. You'll need to gather ingredients and follow the instructions in your guidebook to brew potions in order to exorcize them. If you get stuck and don't know what to do next, don't worry, as Jane's spirit is always on hand to help solve puzzles. Just whistle, and she'll appear with some clues.

Let Me Out

Another companion is Poko, your pet spider. When Alvin can't reach something, Poko comes to the rescue. This adorable (or maybe not, for arachnophobes) sidekick can reach objects and solve puzzles that Alvin can't.

Let Me Out

The whole game might take around 5 hours to finish, according to those who already completed it, so it won't be a long journey to figure out what happened in the cursed village. If you're interested in learning more about the game, feel free to check out its Steam page
