Last week, it was reported that horror writer and director Mike Flanagan would be writing the Warhammer 40,000 live-action series. This week, Henry Cavill, alongside his partner Natalie Viscuso, confirmed the news with an Instagram post, also announcing that he will be the lead actor, but who he will be playing is a secret for now.
Cavill, who is executive producer of the adaptation, said that, as a lifelong fan of Warhammer himself, his goal is to help create the best Warhammer universe with Games Workshop, and now United Artists as well.
He also revealed that they're working on a new season of Secret Level dedicated to Warhammer 40,000, specifically The Deathwatch. The animated project is being developed with Dave Wilson, John Orloff, and Blur Studio.
Some people in the gamer community have speculated that Cavill's character could be the Inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn, especially considering Flanagan's involvement, though it's too early to say.
