It's what you expect from the character and then some more.
Larian Studios
I love watching auditions to see how far the initial understanding of the character was from what we eventually saw in the game or movie, and thankfully, we have actors like Devora Wilde, who voiced Lae'zel in Baldur's Gate 3 and shared her take on the feisty warrior that landed her the role.
It was her only audition for Lae'zel, and Wilde's on-point delivery was enough for Larian Studios to see the githyanki in her.
Yes, Wilde had to say some questionable (and weirdly hot if you're into this kind of stuff) things and even drink some "piss," but then again, it's Lae'zel we're talking about.
Her voice is noticeably less low and husky in the video than in the game, and this is exactly why such glimpses should be shared more often. I wonder how long it took to arrive at the final destination.
Perhaps we will see more of these behind-the-scenes moments on Larian's new YouTube channel.
Hopefully, the studio will have the time to run it together with the work it does for its two current unannounced projects, which should be its "best work ever." Meanwhile, find out why it abandoned the idea of a BG3 sequel in this article.
