Here's How Shogun's Breathtaking Landscapes Were Made in 3D

3D Artist Dmitry Kremiansky shared an in-production look at FX's acclaimed series.

Dmitry Kremiansky, an experienced 3D Modeling/Texturing Artist and Generalist, has recently delighted fans of Shogun, FX's acclaimed historical drama miniseries, by offering an exclusive in-production look at some of the CG environments made for the show.

With a series of short behind-the-scenes demos, Dmitry showed how Shogun's breathtaking landscapes were modeled, textured, and dressed, accompanying each clip with a note detailing his specific contributions to each stage. According to the artist, he used such tools as Maya, Houdini, Substance 3D Painter, V-Ray, and Megascans to handle the production tasks.

"I was lucky to work on Shogun, this was a huge team effort, so my individual contributions weren't as big, but I'm very pleased with the results. I was mostly working on ground, dressing, some texture and model enhancements, etc.," comments Dmitry.

Attached below are some of the demos shared by the author, you can check out the full collection by visiting Dmitry's ArtStation page:
