The Death Stranding movie adaptation was announced in 2022, with Hammerstone Studios (Barbarian) and Kojima Productions happy to collaborate. However, if you think Kojima is directing the film, you are mistaken.
In a recent tweet, he clarified that while he is "deeply involved in producing, supervising, plotting, look, design and content," he isn't in charge of directing.
It's not clear who the director is, there is still little information about the movie. But viewers should expect "something far more intimate and grounded" than other big-budget video game adaptations. Kojima wants to create something new and unusual, so it might not feature the same characters and events.
