Highly-Anticipated Skateboarding Sim Skate Story Will Come To PlayStation In 2025

Solo dev Sam Eng teased that more news will be shared around summer.

If you've been following us since as early as 2022, you might still remember Skate Story, an upcoming action-adventure/skateboarding simulator solo developed by Sam Eng and published by Devolver Digital, which we covered twice back then.

Nearly three years have passed, and game development has progressed greatly. Recently, great news for PS players came in: it will be available on PlayStation in 2025. Together with the announcement is a brand new trailer titled Overlord:

Don't worry if this is your first encounter with Skate Story. Here are some introductions to help you learn what it is about. Set in an amazing-looking Underworld, Skate Story puts you in the shoes of a glass demon tasked to complete an impossible quest in order to gain freedom. Equipped with a skateboard, you will need to skate your way through the barren and surreal landscapes of hell, destroy vicious demons, and save tortured souls, becoming an expert skater and mastering over 70+ skate tricks along the way. What's more, the game promises to feature psychedelic soundtracks by Blood Cultures and John Fio, fully immersing you into the game's bizarre world.

It's been five years since Sam Eng started to share footage from the game, and the game has become more complete and polished, as proved by the highly immersive and octane-fueled clips showcasing its gameplay, stunning visual effects, atmosphere, and more:

The developer promises to release more news later this year around the summer, which makes me wonder if it will be about the release date of this highly anticipated title. If you don't want to miss out, follow the game on X/Twitter and wishlist the game on Steam
