Highly-Realistic Rain Shader Set Up in Unity 6

A new mesmerizing beauty Sakura Rabbit.

Sakura Rabbit, a renowned VFX Artist and Developer who just recently went viral with her phenomenal deformation shader, impresses us for the second week in a row by offering a look at a highly realistic real-time 3D rain shader.

Showcased in a mesmerizing cyberpunk-style demo scene, the shader enables its creator to set up lifelike water droplets and puddles with ripples and accurate reflections. To create this system, Sakura used Unity 6, the latest version of her favorite engine, which offers stability improvements, faster rendering, powerful lighting tools, end-to-end multiplayer workflows, and more.

Previously, Sakura also experimented with Unity 6's new hair-creation tools that allow one to make their digital hairstyles "simulated and rendered as individual strands and LODed as fewer, wider strands in the distance, fast enough to be part of a large scene":

See more of Sakura's projects here and don't forget to join our 80 Level Talent platform and our new Discord server, follow us on InstagramTwitterLinkedInTelegramTikTok, and Threads, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.

100% procedural material made in Substance Designer.
