How to Automatically Connect Textures from Substance 3D Painter to Maya

Using the Substance 3D plug-in is simple.

Need to attach the texture you made in Substance 3D Painter to your Maya object? It's easy with the Substance plug-in that artist Nikie Monteleone shows in a new mini-tutorial.

All you need to do is export textures, enable the Substance plug-in in Maya, click Apply Workflows to Maps, select Arnold and the maps you need, and the network is created to automatically hook the textures to the object.

Monteleone warns that she uses Maya's legacy color management, so you might need to go to your settings.

To see how Monteleone's trick works on her 3D projects, visit her on X/Twitter, where you will also find her stylized technique inspired by oil paintings and a lot of helpful tips for Substance 3D Painter.
