How to Set Up Custom IK Hand Rig in Blender

Stuff Man shows some cool stuff.

A rigger and animator known as Stuff Man showcased a cool custom hand rig he integrated into his Rigify workflow. The stylized hand moves into positions pretty naturally, and you can set up your own thanks to the artist's tutorial.

"I'm not a fan of FK hand controls, so I'm experimenting with ways to replicate FK-like functionality while keeping the flexibility of an IK setup – using tweak bones to bridge the gap," Stuff Man shared.

In the description of the tutorial, the animator left the .blend files and some reference videos, which you can also use to create something similar or totally different.

If you want to see where Stuff Man will use this rig, follow him on X/Twitter to enjoy his character art.
