Hunt: Showdown – a Beautiful Take on Survival Genre

This game by Crytek might be one of the best-looking games you’ve ever seen.

There’s at least one more title from E3 you should know about. Hunt: Showdown is Crytek’s multiplayer survival game, which might be one of the best-looking games you have ever seen. The game is not just moody, it’s so atmospheric that the Hunt almost feels like a VR title.

The game by Crytek can be described as a mix of multiplayer Stalker and Resident Evil. Hunt evolved over the years. Originally called Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age in 2014, the game looked like a Left 4 Dead clone. When Crytek faced financial problems, the fate of the project seemed uncertain, but it changed and became stunningly beautiful.

The core here is a PvP horror battle where five teams of two players are hunting for demons to get bounties that’ll advance their characters. Each team is looking for clues in darkness about where the demonic beasts are. Then, they can attack the demon or let another team hunt it down and ambush them to get the prizes.

There are so many survival games out there, but Hunt is something else. Beautiful visuals, horrifying atmosphere and a unique gameplay make you want to try the game. The title is all about balancing between risk and reward and it makes Hunt captivating.

There’s no information about the release date, so it seems that we’ll have to wait for a year or more. Stay tuned for more details.
