Iconic Mexican Parody Superhero Recreated in 3D With Blender

Faster than a mountain, more agile than a refrigerator, smarter than an avocado, and who is he?

3D Character Artist Adriano Delfino and 3D Generalist Edward Ureña have unveiled a cool collaborative project paying tribute to the iconic Mexican parody superhero El Chapulín Colorado (The Red Grasshopper) from the eponymous TV comedy series.

Portraying a stylized and cartoony version of the character, the model was created by Adriano and rigged by Edward using Blender, a popular open-source 3D software for modeling, texturing, rendering, animation, and VFX. Although not explicitly stated by the creators, it seems that Edward's Rig Creator add-on was also utilized to animate the hero.

In case you missed it, Edward Ureña's Rig Creator was recently released in beta and is currently available for free. With it, you can position the bones to match the character's body and automatically apply weights. Moreover, the plug-in features bone generators with default generators like Def Generator, FK, and Fingers, as well as an IK generator, and an intuitive and efficient list-based Constraint Panel. You can learn more and download Rig Creator here.
