Vitaly Okulov, an experienced 3D Artist and Unreal/Unity Asset Developer, has recently showcased an incredible new shader that enables one to set up impressively lifelike digital snow.
Powered by Unity, the new shader supports displacement with tessellation and comes with a neat trail feature that allows for the creation of realistic-looking snow trails. As noted by the developer, the snow deformation works for any object, meaning that it is also possible to create, for example, trails of human or animal footsteps. What's more, the shader was created for Vitaly's upcoming snow and rain system for Unity and will most likely be available for download in the near future.
