A Valve tester called the upcoming 2D platformer "amazing" and said it evoked an "incredible" feeling.
MossHappyPlace, the indie developer and the creator of the upcoming space 2D platformer This Is No Cave, shared that they received a positive review from a Valve tester who played their game.
The creator shared a screenshot featuring a comment in which a user praised the upcoming project, calling it "amazing" and wishing the developer success with its release. In a brief exchange in the comments, it was revealed that the user had been a tester for the upcoming project that would be released on Steam, working on Valve's behalf. "The feeling I had with the game is incredible. You should be proud," the reviewer added.
While Valve typically performs basic internal testing for titles set to appear on Steam, it's uncommon for developers to hear direct feedback from testers, especially such positive feedback.
"I think it's the best reward I've ever had since I started developing games," says MossHappyPlace.
The game mentioned, This Is No Cave, is a minimalist space-themed parkour platformer set in the depths of an underground labyrinth on an uncharted planet. Using the suit's thrusters and grapple hook, you need to make your way to your spaceship and avoid the treacherous fauna and flora of that place, especially giant predators, worms, that occasionally fall upon you.
Featuring hand-drawn landscapes, the platformer also allows for adjusting the gaming experience by modifying the parameters of players' lives, burst charges, and even game speed. In an endless mode, you can embark on a never-ending journey, escaping the predators and picking up bonuses.
