I just based my landscape material on this. I just wish I could exactly figure out what is going on with normals, ao and displacement here.

That was extremely helpful! Thank you!

Well, small/medium intuos pro is way cheaper that iPad Pro + pencil... just saying... And it works better with ZBrush...

IShatter for Maya Released
11 February, 2016

MOAB presented a brand new script IShatter for Maya and Fracture FX. It allows developers to add fragment geometry just by dragging their mouse over the model.  Ishatter includes regular and radial fragmentation methods and the ability to hide scene objects and highlight voronoi border edges for better previzualization.

Reported features :

  • Ease of use : don’t waste more time tweaking your voronoi settings… here you will be able to break your geometry simply by dragging your mouse.
  • Fully procedural tool
  • Two fragmentation methods, regular and radial. (they can work together in case)
  • Ability to hide other scene objects and highlight voronoi border edges for better previs (if you use Maya 2016 it will also hide other edges)

MOAB states that a 3DS Max version for VoroFrag and RayFire will be released soon. Right now you can download this script here. Let us know what you think about the new script in the comments below. We think it’s pretty neat.
