I recommend that you watch his Intro to 3D Coat and Intro to Destruction art videos. After learning the techniques he used in the video this course will make a lot more sense.

MOAB presented a brand new script IShatter for Maya and Fracture FX. It allows developers to add fragment geometry just by dragging their mouse over the model. Ishatter includes regular and radial fragmentation methods and the ability to hide scene objects and highlight voronoi border edges for better previzualization.

- Ease of use : don’t waste more time tweaking your voronoi settings… here you will be able to break your geometry simply by dragging your mouse.
- Fully procedural tool
- Two fragmentation methods, regular and radial. (they can work together in case)
- Ability to hide other scene objects and highlight voronoi border edges for better previs (if you use Maya 2016 it will also hide other edges)
