Back in November 2023, Digital Artist known online as Mousey bamboozled the internet by presenting an impressive "stop-motion animation" that, in reality, wasn't stop-motion at all, but rather a clever 3D sequence designed to mimic traditional stop-motion techniques.
Six months later, the artist carries on the series with yet another remarkable animation that could easily fool you into believing that it was executed in real life through physical puppet manipulation. Paying homage to the "coffin dance" meme, Mousey's latest masterpiece showcases four stylized mice dancing with a large piece of cheese, with the creator seemingly "manipulating" the mouse model, resulting in a convincing illusion of stop-motion. As stated by the artist, the sequence was created using Blender, with Marvelous Designer utilized for crafting the character's clothing.
Earlier, 3D Generalist Albin Merle also showcased a convincing stop-motion-like 3D animation made using Blender for modeling, retargeting, and rigging, Substance 3D Painter for texturing, and Cycles for rendering:
