KitBash3D Launches Game-Ready Kits Optimized For Unreal Engine 5

Instanced, collision-ready, and Nanite-compatible, there are currently 12 updated collections across sci-fi and fantasy genres, plus two free samples.

KitBash3D, known for its high-quality assets used in film, games, and VFX, created by top-tier artists, has officially launched a new line of Gameplay Ready Kits, a major update designed to help game developers build immersive worlds in Unreal Engine 5.

The new Kits are designed to deliver strong performance while maintaining high visual quality. Using its new USD-based Unreal Importer for benchmarking, the company reported major improvements: draw calls were reduced by up to 82% with Packed Level Instances, and mesh memory usage dropped by 84% through instancing and geometry cleanup. The Kits offer full Nanite support for detailed visuals without traditional LODs. Also, meshes have been split to reduce material slot complexity, enabling smoother streaming and fewer performance hitches during runtime, and include custom collisions for better player interaction.

In addition to performance gains, the assets are individually editable in Unreal Engine, making it easier to adjust layouts, create custom variations, and quickly iterate during development. Selected props have been re-authored with updated UVs and texture atlases to reduce material counts, while walkable structures ensure scenes perform reliably during gameplay.

Whether you're building a mission hub, battle arena, or open-world environment, these Kits can give you a production-ready foundation designed for games and are built to work together. The first wave of Gameplay Ready Kits features 12 updated collections across sci-fi and fantasy genres, along with two free sample Kits to get you started.

Sci-Fi:

While KitBash3D's Kits have long been used for cinematic workflows, this update marks a shift toward real-time-first design. With optimizations in draw calls, memory usage, collision systems, and full Nanite support, these Kits are built specifically for interactive experiences, allowing developers to work faster without sacrificing visual quality.

"We have spent months crafting and engineering these Kits in a way that will save developers countless hours creating their next game without compromising quality. This is the next evolution of our Kits, and we are thrilled to get these in the hands of game developers across the globe", commented Mike Reese, VP of Kits, KitBash3D.

All Kits are available through the KitBash3D web store and Cargo, the company's 3D asset management software. Cargo now features an updated Unreal Importer that enhances the entire Kit library, enabling Nanite support and instancing, even for Kits that haven't yet been fully converted to the Gameplay Ready format.

In the future, KitBash3D will launch all Kits as Gameplay Ready, ensuring ongoing support for real-time developers across game engines and platforms.
