Konami has released a financial report for the nine months that ended December 31, 2022 revealing growth in revenue but a decline in business and operating profit.
The company's net sales for the period amounted to ¥226.88 billion (approximately $1.71 billion) showing a 5.5% increase from the previous year. Meanwhile, Konami's business profit dropped by 31.2% year-on-year reaching ¥41.06 billion ($310 million), and its operating profit decreased by 37.8% to ¥37.52 billion ($283 million).
Konami's Digital Entertainment segment saw a slight growth – it increased from ¥153.95 billion generated in the previous year to ¥156.4 billion generated in FY2022.
Speaking of the game's performance, the company reported that its free-to-play digital collectible card game Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel, which was released at the beginning of 2022, reached 50 million global downloads in November 2022.
The company also reiterated its intention to release the remake of Silent Hill 2 and its plans to produce new games in the Silent Hill franchise, Silent Hill: Townfall and Silent Hill f as well as launch eFootball 2023.
It also shared that Super Bomberman R2, Suikoden 1 & 2 HD Remaster: Gate Rune, and Dunan Unification Wars are planned for a 2023 launch.
