Hryb found a new place after leaving Microsoft a year ago.

Larry Hryb, also known as Major Nelson, is going to join Unity’s Community department, a year after he left Microsoft where he worked for over 20 years, first on MSN music, Xbox, and Official Xbox Podcast.
"At Unity, I see a horizon brimming with potential," he said in a post. "Unity's mission of empowering creative and business success of creators around the world across games, apps, and experiences aligns with my lifelong passion for innovation and community building. I am eager to collaborate with the talented developers and creators who use Unity's tools to bring their visions to life. Together, we'll continue to transform the way stories are told and experiences are shared."
Hryb was an important public figure at Microsoft and will hopefully achieve great results for Unity, which lost some user respect after its highly controversial Runtime Fee, changed soon due to the backlash it caused. Following the event, the company's CEO John Riccitiello left his position, recently replaced by Mattew Bromberg, a former EA executive.
