Blender's Grease Pencil is a powerful 2D drawing system that lets artists sketch directly within the 3D viewport. It's great for a wide range of creative tasks: 2D animation, storyboarding, concept art, or illustrations. Grease Pencil makes it fast and easy to produce detailed designs right inside Blender.
If you want to take advantage of this, there are several ways to transfer Grease Pencil data into the Epic ecosystem of tools, useful for creating non-photorealistic styles or as a foundation for concept development.
In his tutorial, Epic Games' Simon Blakeney demonstrates the process using Unreal Engine 5.6. However, many of the techniques are compatible with earlier versions of Unreal Engine as well. The guide also covers import workflows for Twinmotion 2025.1, Unreal Editor for Fortnite, and Sketchfab, accurate as of August 2025.
