Learn To Simulate Realistic Fluid Interactions In Houdini
Get 20% off Introduction to Houdini: Fluids and more at The Gnomon Workshop.
Learning fluid simulation in Houdini is an incredibly valuable skill, giving you the ability to create effects that are difficult or even impossible to achieve through traditional modeling and animation. In David Silberbauer's Introduction to Houdini: Fluids workshop, aimed at beginners, you'll learn how to create a simple shot featuring sharks while exploring the fundamentals of fluid simulation.
Across 8 lessons and more than 4 hours of content, you'll get familiar with FLIP fluids and learn the differences between DOP and SOP setups. In the final stage, David will show you how to bring all the elements together in Houdini Solaris and assemble the final scene. You'll also learn how to set up two basic lighting scenarios, one for day and one for night, before wrapping things up by tweaking the Karma render settings.
By the end of the workshop, you'll have a solid foundation in Houdini's fluid simulations and the techniques needed to create realistic water, smoke, and particle effects. The workshop also includes project files with everything you need to follow along with the lessons.
