LEGO Style Darth Vader Animation Rendered With UE5.4's Lumen

3D Artist Stu Whitten shared the process behind creating a little Star Wars fan animation.

This cute stylized Star Wars animation was rigged in Unreal Engine 5 and rendered with Lumen, with the author commenting on how much the 5.4's one is better in comparison to Path Tracer, pointing out that this scene has no lights except for global illumination and emissive shaders.

Apparently, the top Lumen render also took around 2 minutes, while the bottom Path Tracing one took a whole half an hour.

As for rigging workflow, Stu explained that as an artist with a background in cinematics, he "uses animation clips, roughs his sequence with them ala story mode, bakes it all down to Control Rig, and does final polish from there":
