Life Is Strange Developer Don't Nod May Exhaust Its Cash Reserves by November

French developer and publisher Don't Nod, renowned for titles such as Life Is Strange, Jusant, Tell Me Why, and the recently released Aphelion, is experiencing financial struggles.

According to the company's financial report, as of April 7, 2026, the company held approximately €8.8 million in cash, with management actively exploring additional financing options, including a capital increase and external funding. Without securing new financing, the company's cash flow forecasts suggest it could exhaust its reserves by November 2026. As spotted by journalist Gauthier Andres, the studio informed its shareholders of these facts.

The report also notes that the studio's main shareholder, Tencent, has not wished to subscribe to a capital increase in the short term, nor contribute to the financing of games currently in development through co-production agreements. Discussions had been underway with several major players in the video game industry for several months, but had not resulted in any structured financing offers. According to the report, the company's operation depends on securing funding, adapting its project portfolio, and developing short-term revenue through third-party development contracts.
