Indian-based studio Lila Games announced that it secured $10 million in Series A funding. The money will go towards developing a mobile F2P shooter game called B.L.A.C.K. as well as expanding the studio's Bangalore team.
The round was led by Rainfall Ventures with the participation of such investors as Bitkraft Ventures, Galaxy Interactive, Sequoia Capital, and Krafton. Bitkraft and Galaxy already backed the company in 2020, when it raised $2.8 million. Besides, several angel investors also took part in a round including CEO of Polygon Studios Ryan Wyatt, CEO of Moonfrog Labs Tanay Tayal, and producer of Arcane: League of Legends Thomas Vu.
"Very rarely have I seen a team that is so obsessed with building a company around a vision with culture first and a level of executional excellence that stands best in class," Bitkraft founding general partner Jens Hilgers shared.
"Our confidence in Lila Games' vision is unchanged but our confidence in the team has only been growing ever since we led the seed round early last year. Lila's first game Black will redefine the mobile shooter genre, which I can say with certainty and excitement while I witness the game coming together".
