The game is set to have a more sizeable budget than the already existing John Wick Hex.
Lionsgate, the entertainment company behind John Wick movies, is reportedly considering the creation of an AAA game based on the action franchise.
As reported by IndieWire, during an earnings call with investors, the company's CEO Jon Feltheimer shared that Lionsgate has been discussing proposals for the game, however, he said that he couldn't share anything concrete at this stage yet.
"I don’t want to get ahead of myself here, but we believe there is a big AAA game to be made out of 'John Wick.' We have been fielding proposals," Feltheimer said, according to IndieWire's report. "We certainly are interested in moving that forward, but I don’t want to say anything more about that at this time."
If Lionsgate is indeed to make a big game based on the Keanu Reeves movies, it would be the first time when the action franchise would be turned into an AAA game.
There already is a title based on the John Wick movies – an indie strategy game John Wick Hex developed by Bithell Games. However, the game that Feltheimer mentioned is supposed to have a much larger budget and a bigger scale which some John Wick fans have been waiting for years.
