It's been almost a decade since Little Devil Inside was first announced through a Kickstarter campaign, alongside a pre-alpha trailer and gameplay footage, and an entry on Steam Greenlight, when it was still a thing. There have been zero updates about the game's progress since its announcement during the PlayStation State of Play in October 2021 as well.
Naturally, people jumped to the conclusion that Little Devil Inside had been canceled, but a new update from the developers provided an explanation of what's been going on.
A gameplay showcase video titled "Despite all." by developer Neostream was released along with a brief update on the game's progression on its Kickstarter page, which includes the announcement that the game will now be built with Unreal Engine 5.
It seems that the main issue the studio faced was that the original team grew to a size that its founders struggled to manage, which led to internal conflicts and slowed down the development of the game.
