More time is needed as the developer promises to "give the game the care and love it deserves."
Little Nightmares III's release window has been postponed from 2024 to 2025, Supermassive Games and Bandai Namco Europe announced on Twitter. The developer did not cite a specific reason for the delay, but emphasized that "quality is a top priority for us."
During gamescom: Opening Night Live 2023 held in August last year, Bandai Namco unveiled the official announcement trailer for Little Nightmares III, a highly anticipated new installment in the popular puzzle-platform horror adventure series. This confirmed the rumors sparked by a job listing from May of the year, suggesting that Little Nightmares 3 was in the making.

However, six months later, Supermassive Games' co-founders, Pete and Joe Samuels, announced their departure from the company in February, stepping down after a 15-year tenure. Shortly afterward, the studio reduced its staff by approximately 90 employees, around 25-30% of its total workforce.
As for the game itself, not much has been revealed about the progress of Little Nightmares III since its announcement trailer. Nonetheless, fans have expressed understanding and support for the developer's decision to take their time rather than rush it.
