The project is progressing but not yet at a stage where the developers could "shop around the concept to potential streamers or studios."

During the Q&A session in CD Projekt Red's latest earnings call, Joint CEO Michał Nowakowski was asked about the progress on the live-action adaptation of its best-selling action-adventure game Cyberpunk 2077. Although it's been over a year since its announcement in October last year, Nowakowski said the project is still in the "conceptual stage."
"I mean, the conceptual stage has various stages of advancement, so we're for sure further in than we were a year ago, but we're also not yet at the stage where we would be shopping around the concept to potential streamers or studios." (transcription via VGC).
The live-action project is a collaborated work with Anonymous Content, the studio behind The Revenant and Spotlight, which secured a total of 18 nominations at the 88th Academy Awards in 2016. Though it's unclear if the live-action project will be a movie or a TV series, it's confirmed that it will not simply retell the game's story. Instead, it will explore an entirely new narrative set in the rich world of Cyberpunk 2077.
"I'd say it’s probably a similar window between here and now as was between when we announced it about a year ago and today, so within that window, I would expect we're going to get to shopping around," Michał Nowakowski added.
Earlier this year, CDPR revealed its intention to "do more in terms of animation," and the joint CEO teased that fans could expect to "see more for sure." The new animations probably won't be related to the hit Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, though, as per their plan in 2022, there wasn't going to be a new season for it.

The company's latest financial report also shows that Project Polaris, namely The Witcher 4, has left the pre-production period and entered the full production phase.
