Lyra Starter Game Available for UE5

The project introduces new UE5 Mannequins.

UE5 has officially been launched and the team also shared its Lyra Starter Game which is a sample gameplay project built alongside UE5 development to serve as a starting point for creating new games. "We plan to continue to upgrade it with future releases to demonstrate our latest best practices," noted the team. 

Lyra Starter Game is said to take over the role that ShooterGame served in UE4, demonstrating scalability from mobile to high-end PC and cross-play multiplayer using Epic Online Services (EOS). The project also offers a choice of two different game modes: Expanse (team deathmatch) and Convolution (control point).

The Lyra Starter Game also has new UE5 Mannequins, Manny and Quinn, as playable characters. "These Mannequins share the same core skeleton hierarchy as the MetaHumans, with a compatible animation system," wrote the team.
