Epic Games released the Machine Learning Deformer Sample, which demonstrates how Unreal Engine’s ML technology can be used to create a high-fidelity next-generation character with deformations driven by full muscle, flesh, and cloth simulation.
It provides an anatomically correct digital double taken from 3D, 4D, and MRI data and shows how the deformer can be used to "approximate an offline complex muscle simulation that was simulated in Houdini," as mentioned by John van der Burg, Principal Animation Engineer at Epic Games.
The updated ML Deformer was presented back in March, and now, it is available in Unreal Engine 5.2, which has just been officially released.
