Magic Pie Releases a Demo for POLYARIS, an Open-World Game Set in the Far North

The demo goes live on May 12.

POLYARIS, Magic Pie's upcoming open-world survival game set in a harsh wilderness of the Arctic land, receives a demo on Steam, so if you enjoyed Hinterland Studio's The Long Dark, make sure to check it out. The demo offers 40 to 60 minutes of gameplay, giving players a taste of the core survival mechanics set on a Norway-inspired island.
The survival mechanics POLYARIS are challenging: imagine that you are an engineer and polar explorer who finds yourself in the snowy and silent coldness of the far north, with no contact with the outside world and no one else around. With your skis and a boat, you need to navigate the melting glaciers and unravel the mystery behind the catastrophe by putting the clues you find together in a revealing story.

The game tasks you with managing your warmth, hunger, and thirst against the backdrop of environmental factors such as a dynamic day-and-night cycle and changing weather.

POLYARIS also features a skiing movement system, boating navigation, and a crafting system. The experience is made more immersive with various challenging encounters, such as facing polar bears, wolves, and scavengers.
