A YouTube channel AI and Games has recently uploaded a great educational video dedicated to building believable horses in games. Horses, as some of the game developers know, are quite hard to implement due to their anatomy and a variety of other factors that need to be considered while developing a game. This video shows how Rockstar Games made arguably one of the best horses in video games in 2018's Red Dead Redemption 2.

The video contains 3 parts, each of which is dedicated to different aspects of in-game horse-building. The author explains how the lateral movement was set up, talks about the importance of the terrain itself, and touches upon the personality layer, a layer that makes horses responsive and believable.
