Marvelous Designer 2024.0 Has Been Released

Multiple wind controllers, video capture, soft body simulation, and other features are waiting for you in the new version.

CLO Virtual Fashion has launched Marvelous Designer 2024.0, the latest version of its popular 3D clothing design software. The release brings many great features that will streamline your workflow.

One of the most crucial updates is the soft body simulation, which allows you to apply deformable body simulation to express skin elasticity and make cloth-to-body interactions more realistic. The feature is only available for the app's default avatar types.

Speaking of them, Marvelous Designer now automatically converts avatars created in other software into default MD avatar types keeping their joint positions.

The company has also introduced EveryWear, a toolkit that "automates how you optimize garments for digital spaces like gaming, metaverse, and entertainment." It should cut your time and costs by automating repetitive tasks like fitting, rigging, texture baking, and generating levels of detail (LoDs).

Moreover, Marvelous Designer 2024.0 lets you set up multiple wind sources, capture video of the animation in the 3D window, bring garments to Unreal Editor with LiveSync, and make wrinkles with the puckering feature.

Other changes include:

  • Scale Custom Joint Avatar of FBX File
  • Symmetrical 3D State
  • Match 2D Pattern Measurements
  • Partial Strengthen
  • Efficient 2D Pattern Selection
  • Basic Arithmetic Operations in Input Field
  • Show thumbnail on the Project file icon
  • Save Min-Max Animation Range in .zprj File
  • Display graphic images in areas outside the pattern
