This release features enhancements to GPU simulations, Trim simulations with collisions, advanced Pinching with Soft Selection, and more.
CLO Virtual Fashion has officially released Marvelous Designer 2024.2, the latest version of their acclaimed 3D clothing design software, enhancing simulation features, especially for GPU simulations and garments with attached Trims.
Now, simulations running on the GPU match the collision handling accuracy of those on the CPU, effectively managing multiple layers of clothing. Additionally, the simulation menu has also been updated.
Trims, smaller details like buttons or buckles, can now be simulated with collision properties, interacting with garments and being affected by weight and gravity.
Another improvement is a modified Soft Selection option with a customizable falloff shape for the Pinch function, enabling more control over how a garment fits the avatar.
When exporting a garment with thickness, the direction of thickness extrusion can be specified, and pins placed on one half of a symmetrical linked pattern can now be mirrored to the other side.
