Remedy Entertainment has shared a financial report with investors, revealing the progress of its in-development titles.

Fresh after Alan Wake 2's successful launch, the studio is working on the Max Payne 1 and 2 remakes. According to the document, the games are now ready for production, so it looks like this will be Remedy's next release.

"Max Payne 1&2 remake progressed into the production readiness stage. We have gained clarity on the style and scope of the game, and we have an exceptionally well-organized team working on it. With these accomplishments, we are excited about the project and its future success."

The company is working with the GTA creator Rockstar Games to make it happen. The games will be shipped as a single title PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, powered by Northlight, Remedy's proprietary game engine.

Unfortunately, there is no release date yet, but I wouldn't expect the remakes to arrive in the next year or two.

The report also mentioned that Control 2 is still in the proof-of-concept stage.

"The plans for this sequel are ambitious, and we have seen good progress both in the designs and in the game build. We will continue at this stage for the next few quarters.  We focus on proving the identified key elements before moving to the next stage and scaling up the team."

The game will be co-developed and co-published by Remedy and 505 Games to be released for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

There is also the co-op multiplayer Control spin-off codenamed Condor and an online PvE shooter codenamed Vanguard, co-financed by Tencent. Condor "has progressed from the proof-of-concept to the production readiness stage", while Vanguard should complete the proof-of-concept stage by the end of the year.
