"A new Freemium version of ZBrush Desktop is on its way."
Maxon
ZBrushCore and ZBrushCoreMini, both streamlined versions of the full ZBrush software designed for different user needs, have seen minimal updates in recent years. Now, Maxon has officially announced that both products will be discontinued.
Beginning May 30th, 2025, ZBrushCore and ZBrushCoreMini will enter what Maxon describes as "Limited Maintenance Mode." From that date, ZBrushCore will no longer be available for purchase, though existing subscriptions can still be renewed until September 30th, 2025. Meanwhile, ZBrushCoreMini will no longer be available for download.
Although no official reason has been provided for the discontinuation, the ongoing development of the iPad version of ZBrush suggests a shift in focus. The statement said, "As part of Maxon's continued efforts to align the Desktop and iPad versions, a new Freemium version of ZBrush Desktop is on its way."
