In a recent interview, Head of Xbox Phil Spencer clarified the situation regarding the release of upcoming Activision Blizzard games, stating that Microsoft plans to release all Activision Blizzard title on Xbox Game Pass on the launch day.
Talking with Game File, he also noted that some work is required to integrate existing titles into Microsoft's platform. The company wants to ensure that Activision Blizzard games are available simultaneously on PC and consoles within the subscription service.
"Our intent is the full portfolio of games from ZeniMax, Activision Blizzard, and XGS – Xbox Game Studios – will be on Game Pass, day one," Spencer said.
Although Spencer didn't specify the exact release date for Activision Blizzard games, including the Call of Duty series, on Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft previously announced that Diablo 4 will be the first title from the acquired company on the platform. It is set to join the service's lineup on PC and consoles on March 28.
The company also previously mentioned that more Activision Blizzard games will be coming to Xbox Game Pass throughout 2024, without sharing any exact dates.
Adding to that, Microsoft has recently shared its plans and vision for the future of Xbox, saying that four of its exclusive titles are going to join other platforms, like PS5.
