Microsoft Presented 3D Avatar Generation Model Rodin

Upload a photo or describe it with a text prompt to get an avatar.

Microsoft has presented Rodin, a generative model for making 3D avatars with just an image or a text prompt. The AI system automatically produces highly detailed avatars that can be viewed in 360 degrees and edited after creation.

Rodin represents a neural radiance field as multiple 2D feature maps, which are then rolled out into a single 2D feature plane within which 3D-aware diffusion is performed.

It looks pretty simple and provides a pretty good 3D model. Just upload a photo or describe what you want to see, and the AI will generate an avatar. You can then tell it to change what you don't like using natural language, which makes Rodin a handy and easy-to-use tool.
