Microsoft’s inXile Shared Details on Clockwork Revolution

Microsoft shared more details behind the upcoming steampunk RPG Clockwork Revolution that will let you build your own characters from scratch.

InXile Entertainment studio Head Brian Fargo shared a bit more detail in a post on the Xbox Wire blog. “This is a fantastical, first-person action RPG, with dynamic time-bending combat, deep interconnected roleplaying systems, and the ability to create your own unique character from the ground up”.

The post also shares some details on the game’s story, which will include a mind- and time-bending narrative and exciting Ironwood’s scheme. Brian Fargo revealed that players will have to use “a wondrous device” Chronometer to travel back in time, choose how to influence the past, and then return to the present to experience the effects of their decisions.

“Through unprecedented and complex visual and narrative depth, the choices you make on your trips into the past will change the people, the stories, and the city of Avalon itself in extraordinary and (very often) unexpected ways”, continued the Head of InXile Entertainment.

Unfortunately, the game's release date is still unknown. Fargo referred to what we saw on Sunday in the blog post as a "pre-alpha sneak peek," so we might have to wait a bit before we can play the game ourselves on PC or Xbox Series X/S.

Earlier, Bethesda released an official gameplay trailer for Starfield at Microsoft's Xbox Games Showcase 2023. Among the other companies, Playground Games also shared a look at their upcoming reboot of Xbox’s 2004 Fable
