Modder Brings TF2-Style Rocket Jumping To Hytale
Approved by Hypixel founder Simon Collins-Laflamme.
Hytale launched earlier this month, and although it's still not on Steam, the game seems to be doing really well, even becoming the most-watched title on Twitch. Impressively, just a week after release, a 15-year-old modder made Hytale crossplay compatible with Minecraft.
Designed with modding at its core, Hytale allows players to change, expand, or remove nearly anything in the game, and fans are already taking full advantage of that freedom. Recently, one of the modders, Tom Lockwood, showcased rocket jumping in Hytale, replicating the explosive knockback of the Soldier's rockets from Team Fortress 2. He built everything himself, from the functionality to the models and textures, and received praise from Hypixel's Simon Collins-Laflamme, who checks out community creations.
Apparently, this mod will be released for free, but you can support Tom on Patreon to help with development and access early builds and behind-the-scenes materials. If you're a Hytale content creator, you might find his tutorial on exporting your player model to Blockbench helpful:
