Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Sales Surpass 4 Million Copies

Sales of Monster Hunter Rise and its major expansion Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak continue to grow – the main title has sold over 11 million copies and the DLC's sales surpassed 4 million copies.

Sales of the action role-playing game Monster Hunter Rise and the major expansion Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak continue to grow. Yesterday, Capcom announced that the main title has sold over 11 million copies on Nintendo Switch and PC, and the DLC's sales have reached over 4 million units.

Additionally, Capcom revealed that the sales of the entire Monster Hunter franchise surpassed 86 million copies.

The previous sales update on Monster Hunter Rise and its expansion took place in July when the company reported that Monster Hunter Rise had sold 10 million units and Sunbreak's sales had surpassed 3 million copies.

While Monster Hunter: World remains the company's best-selling title, interestingly, the expansion for Monster Hunter Rise is selling much faster than the Iceborne expansion for Monster Hunter World – Sunbreak passed the four million mark in less than eight weeks, while it took about four months for Iceborne to reach this result.

Monster Hunter Rise debuted on March 26, 2021 on the Nintendo Switch and its PC version was released on January 12, 2022. The launch of Sunbreak took place on June 30, 2022 on both platforms simultaneously. Rise is currently one of the top-selling Capcom titles and was also the highest-selling boxed game in Japan and in the US and the twentieth best-selling title during July.

In a press release, Capcom noted that Monster Hunter Rise's recent success was driven by discounts and bundles from Sunbreak, while the expansion's rise in popularity is related to the August content update.
