Monster Hunter Wilds Positive Reviews Skyrocket After Its Recent Steam Optimization Update
It only took Capcom a year.

Monster Hunter Wilds was released almost a year ago, and while it's a solid game in general, its poor optimization is what drastically soured its Steam rating. Recently, Capcom finally released an update fixing the game's performance, and it opened the floodgates for positive reviews.
From 54% positive opinions to 83% and then 85% the next day – this is success a year in the making.
At some point on the day of the update's release, there were no negative reviews at all, but it's not the case anymore. Still, congratulations, Capcom. You can even run the game on Steam Deck now.
However, the update didn't help everyone, according to new reports: some players still complain about lag and performance issues. Others don't feel like MHW's gameplay is what it should be:
"MMO-style DPS checks on bosses, basically mandatory multiplayer on endgame content, an idiotic story and focus on characters nobody cares about, and a thoroughly easy and frictionless experience... this is not my Monster Hunter," said one Steam user.
