Monster Hunter World Sells 23 Million Units

Monster Hunter Rise is 10 million behind.

Monster Hunter: World was released in 2018, but it still remains a very popular game, with its concurrent player count reaching 138,148 just a week ago and then soaring even higher this weekend. It's no wonder considering how many people own a copy of the game.

According to the series' producer Ryozo Tsujimoto, the title has sold 23 million units, including the Iceborne Master Edition. A newer installment, Monster Hunter Rise, released in 2021, has managed about half of this number – 13 million, a meaningful achievement nonetheless.

Tsujimoto also reported that the freshly launched AR RPG Monster Hunter Now has already surpassed 10 million downloads – a fantastic feat considering it was released in September of 2023.

Next for the team is Monster Hunter Wilds, announced at The Game Awards 2023. As mentioned earlier, it should be out in 2025, and we'll hear more about it in summer.
