Move AI has presented a new tool to make the process of motion capture as simple as possible. Move One is a single-camera markerless mocap solution that can capture and create 3D animations with just your iPhone.
The original Move AI could extract natural human motion from videos shot with two-plus cameras using advanced AI, computer vision, biomechanics, and physics. Now, it is right in the palm of your hand, no markers or special setup needed, only a single phone.
The process is easy: shoot your shot, upload it online, and export the animation in FBX or USD format to DCC software like Blender, Maya, and Unreal Engine 5. Move One supports full-body motion capture as well as hand and finger tracking. You can record up to 60 seconds and receive the mocap data in five minutes.
Move AI also has a multi-camera solution, and the difference is, predictably, in functionality. Move One can capture only one person, while Move Multi-Cam is more flexible and can handle multiple actors.
The app works with the iPhone 8 and newer, running iOS 16 or above. It is free but requires credits to process footage. The Starter subscription costs $15/month.
