Mysterious Orb in Black-and-White Stylized Animation Made in Blender

Carlos Henrique's work has some Arcane vibes.

Carlos Henrique showed off a cool black-and-white stylized animation he created in Blender. The moving lines over the character's goggles and the bizarre orb might remind you of Arcane, but it was actually inspired by the sci-fi horror Annihilation, the Lighthouse movie, and Nurarihyon from Gantz.

The character was drawn using Procreate, and later, After Effects blended everything together for this interesting result. As for the goggles, they were hand-drawn.

"At some point in the process, I made a very basic 3D model of them and experimented with the shaders, but it wasn’t leading anywhere, so I decided to scrap the idea. I went back to drawing and got a decent result. The lenses were green-colored circles, which I used as a chroma key to add the reflections. Later on, I added those sketchy lines by drawing just three or four frames of them on top of the goggles."

If you wish to create something like this, Henrique recommends tutorials by Ducky 3D, so check them out.

Henrique's Instagram has his other works, no less impressive than this one:
