Neon Light Refraction in the Realtime Train Scene

Olivers Pavicevics shared videos from the production of the realtime train scene created in Unity and Deckard Render. This time, he worked on the dynamic lighting and created a neon light refraction shader for the scene.

The video that you see is a VR scene treated like a video, as Olivers described it. 
For lighting, he wanted to achieve a nice-looking refracted neon light that wouldn't cost much of performance. So, he created a simple simulating shader for neon light refraction.

When talking about making VR, Olivers shared some detail of it: "Some film effects won't be there in VR.. as you don't want motion blur, grain, cinematographic color correction or DOF in VR. I look at this as a filmmaker would look at VR. Instead of taking a real camera to real place and filming, I'm using Deckard and virtual camera to film VR. Different media require a different approach."
