Netflix has launched Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, a new animated show based on Far Cry 3's Blood Dragon expansion. Well, I say "based", but the parallels are pretty subtle here: you won't really find the same characters or plots, only the retro-futuristic setting.

"Year 1992. The United States has been renamed Eden, a technocracy dominated by corruption. Super soldier Dolph Laserhawk is locked up in the Supermaxx maximum security prison. He leads a team of rebels under the orders of a shady director," says the show's description.

The series is produced by Bobbypills and Ubisoft Film & Television, so don't be surprised to find familiar elements and faces from Ubisoft's games like Watch Dogs, Rayman, and Rainbow Six Siege.
The cyberpunk action in the show follows the political narrative of an oppressive corporation holding the population in its hands and rebels fighting against the system – a pretty popular topic lately.

Captain Laserhawk was developed by Adi Shankar, the showrunner behind Castlevania and the upcoming Devil May Cry anime. It now has a 7.3 rating on IMDb and a 65% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
