Bethesda's recently released sci-fi RPG, Starfield, has been out for just over a week, yet modders have already shipped hundreds of game extenders, character presets, HUD revampers, new weapons and outfits, and other downloadable modifications, demonstrating that the modding community for Bethesda games remains as active as ever.
And as is always the case with fan-made game mods, no list would be truly complete without wacky mods that add iconic characters from other media, with CJ from GTA: San Andreas and Thomas the Tank Engine, being the must-have additions.
Fortunately, Nexus user BulwarkHD has recently delivered the latter, introducing the very first Thomas-themed mod for Starfield. Initially spotted by PC Gamer, this new mod completely retextures Vasco, one of Starfield's companions, transforming the robot into a futuristic rendition of the beloved locomotive, complete with the appropriate paint job, of course, Thomas' smiling face – eerie for some, entertaining for others.

To install the mod, you need to extract the Data folder into your Documents\My Games\Starfield folder and add the following lines to your StarfieldCustom.ini in documents/my games/Starfield, making sure that there are no spaces:

"If using Xbox Game Pass and it does not work try opening the game folder (default path is C:\Xbox Games\Starfield\Content)," commented the developer. "Find the Starfield.ini file. Under [Archive] add the lines there."

Earlier, Modders Ian Patterson and Stephen Abel also launched Starfield Script Extender (SFSE), a "mod of all mods" that offers additional scripting capabilities and functionality for the game.
And prior to that, modders played with flashlights and added photos of Phil Spencer, Todd Howard, and Nicolas Cage to the light emitted by the flashlight.
