In a recent interview, Yoko Taro, the Director behind the NieR series, and Stellar Blade's Kim Hyung-tae had a chance to sit down and talk about their games.
It looks like Taro is quite a fan of the upcoming Stellar Blade, which is set to arrive on April 26, and feels a bit "jealous" as he thinks that Shift Up's game is "much better" than what Taro made.
"Stellar Blade is such an amazing game, I think it's much better than Nier: Automata," says Taro.
Elaborating on the matter, Taro shared he thinks that the graphics of Stellar Blade have achieved a new level of quality for a new generation. He also admitted to Kim that he envies the fact that the game "shows that you have your own company and are working with like-minded people."

As for Kim, he can't agree with Taro, praising the NieR games and complimenting their storytelling aspects.
"The more we talk about it, the more I feel like Stellar Blade can't compete," said Kim. "I consider myself a visualist, not a storyteller. I've been creating visuals all my life, so I can't quite match Yoko Taro when it comes to storytelling. I try to make up for this with gameplay."
