Nintendo Switch 2 Will Reportedly Not Appear Until Next Year's Spring

The company's developers reportedly don't expect the release to come sooner.

Fans waiting for the new handheld by Nintendo shouldn't expect it to be released this financial year, ending March 2025.

The recent report confirms that it is only the announcement that will be out in this time span. It is a standard practice for the company to first announce the console and only then release it, as happened before with NX and Nintendo Switch. In May 2024, Nintendo's president, Shuntaro Furukawa, proclaimed that the new console would be officially announced by the end of this financial year.

Besides, the company's developers reportedly don't expect the new console's launch this financial year. According to the report, they were even told not to expect the handheld to be released in this period. However, many people hope the device will be launched next spring, at the beginning of the next financial year, but it has not been confirmed.
